Be A Voice

Our Be A Voice campaign is all about improving awareness of positive and negative mental health on Edge Hill campus.

In 2019, we all know what mental health is and why it’s important, and we don’t want to belittle you by going over the same ground year after year after year…

Instead, we want you to Be a Voice! By encouraging Edge Hill Students to speak up about their experiences of positive and negative mental health, we want to break the stigma causing students to suffer in silence.

Did you know…

In a survey conducted by NUS-USI in 2017:

  • 78% of students surveyed indicated they have experienced mental health worries over the past year;
  • Over half of all respondents reported to not reaching out for support at any point, with a third of this number reporting that they were unaware of the support available from their university or college.
  • Of the respondents, 46% of respondents said that mental health issues had impacted on their quality of life, 44% said it had impacted upon their studies and grades, and 43% said they had impacted on their relationships.
