GIVE IT A GO! – TRIPS SPECIAL!!!
We love our GIVE IT A GO! calendar this year… it’s all about trying exciting things, new experiences, making friends and having fun… all without commitment!
We’ve gone all out this year to bring the best of the North West to Edge Hill Students, and even take our lovely Edge Hill Students to the best of the North West!
We’ve organised a number of trips through your first term, to help you settle into life in Ormskirk, and discover the joys of living in the North West. Yes, we probably have the most beautiful University Campus in the UK, but you’re also going to be living in a pretty awesome part of the world too, so we want you to see as much of it as you can while you’re here!
For most of the trips we’ve organised, booking is required, so make sure you visit our ‘what’s on’ section to find out all the details.
Some of our highlights:
WALKING TOURS OF ORMSKIRK
Our lovely SU Officers will be taking you on a guided walking tour of Ormskirk, steeped in history and character, full of cobbled streets and little cafes and shops, and the infamous grade II listed clock tower in the centre of the market cross.
Tours will leave from the SU Bar and last approximately an hour and a half… comfy shoes essential!!
IKEA
For a chance to un-bare your new student pad, make sure you book a place on our trip to IKEA… we’re putting on a coach, so go grab your pots, pans, plates, cutlery… and probably something random from their clearance section near the tills!!! We’re even wrangled some free food vouchers, so meatballs will be coming your way too!
LIVERPOOL ONE STUDENT EVENT
Liverpool One has transformed Liverpool into probably one of the best shopping experiences in the UK (yes we are biased!) Don’t miss your chance to save ££££s at your favourite stores, bars and restaurants! We’ve got a coach leaving from campus, so book your place, bring your student ID, and for one day only, stock up on bargains galore!!
ART LOVERS GUIDE TO LOCAL GALLERIES
With more galleries and national museums than any other UK city outside of the capital, it’s a must to go on this art lovers trip! Taking in the Lady Lever, Tate Liverpool, Walker Art Gallery and the world famous ‘Another Place’ at Crosby beach, this is a fabulous chance to get cultural for the day… it’s a must for us!
CULTURAL TOUR OF MERSEYSIDE
Taking in the Maritime Museum, the International Slavery Museum, the historical Liverpool waterfront and the World Museum, this is an absolute must for students wanting to learn all about Merseyside, it’s history and see it in all its splendour. We might be biased, but it’s unlike any city elsewhere, and you’ll soon learn that Scousers are some of the loveliest people you’ll ever meet. It’s gonna be sound (kid).
SHIVERPOOL GHOST TOUR
A gruesome tour around Liverpool taking place on the dark streets, and led by some spooky characters. This is a massive event that people LOVE to go to, and recently won the Visit England’s “Best Guided Tour Award”.
MANCHESTER CHRISTMAS MARKET
We LOVE Christmas here are Edge Hill SU HQ, and we LOVE Christmas markets even more!! This is a great chance to sort out all your Christmas shopping before you head home, and wow your parents when you pull out their one-of-a-kind alpaca-hair knitted jumper that your siblings can in no-way top (cue biggest xmas pud portion ever).
