Edge Hill Students' Union's free period product scheme has become the subject of frequent abuse and misuse.

On Thursday 27 October at approximately 11.20am, a member of Facilities Management staff discovered the women's washroom on the ground floor of the Hub in disarray. Unused tampons and pads from our Menstruation Station dispenser were left littered on the washroom floor.

Elsewhere, this is also a frequent occurance in the SU Bar & Venue toilets. Staff have found unused products scattered in and around the washrooms.

We do not condone this behaviour. Purposeful littering of these products is wasteful, harmful for the environment, and a strain of staff resource. Taking products when you do not need them may also leave others without the products they need.

Edge Hill Students' Union launched its Menstruation Station scheme to provide free period products for all students in times of need. We expect students, staff, and members of the public to respect these facilities. Any abuse of these products or vandalism of the dispensers will not be tolerated.

If you witness any abuse of our Menstruation Stations, please contact Campus Support immediately.

Telephone: 01695 654227 (External) / 4227 (Internal)

Alternatively, if you notice a washroom littered with products, please report this to Facilities Management.
