Edge Hill Students’ Union’s Vice President Welfare, Cal Chambers, is to leave his post on Friday 18 June having successfully sought full-time employment.
Cal, who has been in post since July 2020 following a cross-campus election by Edge Hill students, has worked on several important projects throughout his year at the Students’ Union. These include securing and seeking clarity on the University’s no-detriment policy during the COVID-19 pandemic, and his personal focus on mental health campaigning, in particular using digital tools like Togetherall to help Edge Hill students over the past academic year.
Of his year in post, Cal said: "It's been an honour and a privilege to be in this role and carry out work in conjunction with both the University and the wider Students’ Union to help students with their time at Edge Hill.
“I'd like to say thanks to everyone for making my time in this role such a joy and I wish you all the very best for the future. I'd also like to say that the incoming Elected Officers are going to be absolutely amazing when they start their term! I know they are going to do amazing things.”
Following his year at Edge Hill Students’ Union, Cal will be continuing his work helping others, using his experience of wellbeing and mental health campaigning in his new full-time role.
Edge Hill Students’ Union’s new officer team begin their roles on July 01 and will be taking up new positions within the Students’ Union. These are: Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine Student Engagement Officer; Faculty of Education Student Engagement Officer; and Faculty of Arts and Sciences Student Engagement Officer.
In the meantime, Ellie Pither, the current Vice President Activities, working alongside the student engagement team, will be available to answer any enquiries on behalf of the student officer team. If you have a question, you can get in contact by emailing suengagement@edgehill.ac.uk.
