HELLO!

We’ve been firing messages left, right and centre across social media over the past few weeks, with bits of useful information in response to your questions… so we thought it was worth sending you a bit of a summary, to let you know a few helpful tips to save you time and money at Edge Hill :)

  1. ARRIVA BUS TICKET STUDENT DEALS @ SU Shop

Arriva bus tickets and passes are now on sale in our SU shop – this is a biggie, because not only is it now super convenient for you to pick them up,  but if you pay for your tickets and passes using the YoYo Wallet app, you’ll also earn points…

If you purchase an annual pass (£375) with your YoYo Wallet app, you’ll earn enough points for a FREE Edge Hill hoody, a FREE lanyard, and probably a FREE coffee too… if you’re going to get one any way, you might as well get one through our SU Shop!

(You can also earn points on the tickets too!)

  1. LAUNDRY Q’s..

Did you know that we’ve got a laundry in our SU Building, which has recently been refurbished? If you’re finding it all a bit confusing, we hope the following posters will help! If you’re still struggling, do find a member of Staff in the SU who will be happy to help with all your #washprobs

  1. SUBWAY OPENING TIMES

Our brand new Subway is now open, and proving to be super popular! It’s tucked away in our SU Building, but DO check it out… our Breakfast offer of a bacon or sausage sub with a hot drink for £2 is without a doubt the bargain of the century on campus! Open from 8am - 11pm...

  1. WHAT’S HAPPENING ON CAMPUS AFTER WELCOME WEEK?

We’ve got LOADS of events on this term as part of our GIVE IT A GO! programme, which offers trips (Ikea, Christmas markets, Liverpol One?!!), workshops, crafternoons, sports & societies tasters, socialising events and campaigns. Take a look at www.edgehillsu.org.uk/giag to see all the events and book your place!

  1. YOYO WALLET – EARN POINTS FOR FREE STUFF!

We love free stuff! Whether it’s food, drinks, lanyards, or even Edge Hill hoodies… It’s so easy to download and use the yoyo app to earn points and redeem them for amazing things!! Here’s what to do:

  1. Search for YoYo Wallet in your app store (and download)
  2. Open the app, and search for ‘Edge Hill’, and select
  3. Link your bank card to the app (follow the simple step-by-steps)
  4. If you have an NUS card, link it too!
  5. Your personalised page now shows all the things available to you, including Food & Drink offers, event tickets, and loyalty stamp cards.
  6. To make a purchase, simply open the app, hit ‘pay now at the bottom of your screen’, and scan on any of the readers in our SU Shop or SU Bar – You’ll earn 100 points for every £1 spent.
  7. Once you’ve got enough YoYo points in your app, you’ll be able to get FREE STUFF!

  1. BUYING AN NUS Extra CARD

We genuinely don’t know what we’d do without our student discounts!! NUS Extra cards go beyond the norm, and give you local, national AND international discounts… The easy-to-use app shows you the latest deals in and around Ormskirk and beyond…

Fancy an extra 25% off student ticket prices at Odeon?, 20% off food in the SU Bar?, 20% off National Express tickets (Xmas trip home sorted!) 10% off Ormskirk Starbucks, or 40% off at Pizza Express?!… not to mention 20% off at Warehouse and a whole lotta discounts at hundreds of other food, fashion and entertainment outlets!

You can order online and collect at the SU Shop, or pop in while you’re on campus and get one there and then.

  1. FEELING HOMESICK

This is totally normal, so don’t worry! We’ve got an AMAZING super duo, Esther and Phil, who have been supporting students with every problem you can imagine for years! So whether you’re feeling a bit lonely or unhappy on your course, or needing help with an academic appeal or landlord dispute, they’re here to help.

We’re separate from the University, and all discussions with you are private and confidential (there is NO risk of anything you say getting back to your tutors etc).

You can book an appointment with them in our Advice Centre, or over the phone, by visiting www.edgehillsu.org.uk/advice
