Staff at Edge Hill University will not take strike action following the result of a ballot.
The University and College Union (UCU) released the results of its ballot, held between Wednesday 16 March and Friday 8 April on strike action over issues of pay, casualisation of work, workload, and equalities.
The Edge Hill staff voter turnout was beneath the 50% threshold for action to take place. Therefore, staff will not take strike action this cycle.
Staff eligible to vote: 345
Votes cast: 99
Voter turnout: 28.7%
Of the 99 voters, 65 voted to take full strike action, while 33 voted against strike action. Meanwhile, 92 voted yes to taking action short of a strike, with seven voting against this.
Edge Hill Students’ Union welcomes and respects the result of the ballot. We are pleased our students will not face further disruption.
If future ballots and subsequent strike action takes place, we will provide updates and keep you informed on your best options for support.
