Check out all the candidates running for roles in the Edge Hill Students' Union Elections 2026.
During this year's nomination process, all candidates were asked to answer the following questions as part of their manifestos:
👉 Question 1. Supporting students in a changing and pressured environment
Students are facing increasing pressures, including cost-of-living challenges, academic demands, and wellbeing concerns. As an Elected Officer, how would you work to support students to feel safe, supported, and able to succeed both on and off campus?
👉 Question 2. Representation, trust, and meaningful student voice
Student representation is most effective when students trust that their voices lead to real change. How would you engage with a diverse range of students and ensure their feedback is meaningfully represented and acted upon during your time in office?
👉 Question 3. Faculty Focus
Each of the three faculties at Edge Hill has its own distinct challenges and priorities. What do you see as the most significant challenge facing students in the faculty you are standing to represent, and how would you approach addressing it as an Elected Officer?
Please note: In the interests of fairness, the manifestos are published as submitted by the candidates. Edge Hill Students' Union has not edited any of the below manifestos.

River Rose Fitzgerald
Hello, my name is River and I am a first year student studying Primary Education with QTS. My passions include dancing, volunteering at animal sanctuaries and talking to lots of people from all different backgrounds.
If you were to choose me as your student governor then I would ensure that not only do you have a voice in a certain parts of a decision but throughout every stage of a decision that is being made. I would also provide statistics and data of how your opinions and voice has been used in order to make lots of higher up decisions. I think it is incredibly important that we not only have our say but see our voice in action.
I would like to take full advantage of our beautful campus and host a plethora of activities and talks to not only reach those who are using their voice currently but also for those who might feel hesitate to raise their opinions/ concerns. Talking is fun! We as humans engage best with decision making when we feel supported and validated and these talks and activities would highlight this significantly.
I hope you will consider me for Student Governor
